Inspiration: Senara in Hawaii

Two parts wind, one part water and just the right amount of that special magic that Matthew Ree adds to the equation. This styled shoot is perfection by the numbers. Lucky enough to have worked with Matthew in the past, we didn't hesitate when he asked to photograph a selection of our gowns during his Hawaii photography workshop for CLY by Matthew Ree. And man oh man just look at the beauty he captured! Stay tuned in the weeks to come for more of this Maui goodness.

Real Weddings: Meet Manya

Manya and Jonathan have friends with cool spaces. This couple was lucky enough to convince their family friend (and fashion Photographer) Ilan Ruben, to let them convert his studio into their dream wedding venue. Located in beautiful Sunset Park, Brooklyn and right on the water, the space was ideal. Manya chose our Pherousa gown (simplified). The perfect dress for this unique city feté. Congratulations you two!

Engagement: Mara in Paris

Patrick popped the question in Paris and Ian Holmes Photography was there to capture the beautiful moments that followed (Mara said yes!). Their romantic photos under the Eiffel Tower and among the cobblestone streets embody that French je ne sais quoi. Conveniently, Mara had our Bryant Dress packed and ready for whatever fabulousness came her way. Congratulations you two!

Inspiration: Azurite in Iceland

Bridal portraits may seem like an antiquated tradition, but they are definitely making a comeback. And if a portrait session means a little pre-wedding vacation with your gown and a fabulous photographer, why not? Just look to this Nordic bridal portrait session for inspiration. Huong Nguyen-Takeba took our Azurite gown in Reykjavik, Iceland. Black sand beaches in the North Atlantic Ocean created an almost other-worldly setting for this shoot. And the wind brought the pale aqua and gold layers of silk to life.

Real Weddings: Meet Heidi

Heidi and Casey dated for 9 years before getting married. Needless to say, after all of that time together their family and friends were already close as can be. And all of those loved ones rallied to hand craft this homespun soiree. The couple chose Heidi's parents' home in Hancock, NH as their spot. The estate, named "The Highlands", was built in 1790 and used to belong to the bride's grandmother, who cultivated a menagerie of odd pets on the grounds (including a peacock). Special touches included a hand painted bar and table signs (all named for the couple's pets). Heidi's sister made an amazing, vintage inspired photobooth. If you think you spy a LOT of littles you aren't wrong. All 9 of the bride and groom's nieces and nephews (all under the age of 6) were part of the ceremony! Heidi wore our Orchis Tee and a custom skirt based off of the Nolita dress. The perfect combination for this intimate union.

Inspiration: Ianassa by Allison Markova

“On a day when the wind is perfect, the sail just needs to open and the world is full of beauty.
Today is such a day.” -Rumi

Allison Markova is the lady behind the lens for this inspiration shoot. Billowing and beautiful, our Ianassa gown floats across the sand, dynamic and radiant. On the beach next to the lapping waves and kissed by the end of day sun is Ianassa's happy place.

Real Weddings: Meet Rachel

You know how they say everything is bigger in Texas?   It's clear that this love is like that. Rachel and Kevin mixed clean lines and modern sensibility with their rustic setting and turned out an event just as chic as can be. They chose lucite details, lots of white and an altar that seemed just made to frame the sun. The style certainly carried though to the wedding part too! Check out those bridesmaids in pantsuits and super dapper dudes. We love the crisp contours of our Heritage Bustier + La Reine Skirt (simplified) in this setting, specifically the juxtaposition of this combo in the fields of prairie grass and against the expanse of corrugated metal.  Rachel and Kevin under those clouds, against the clear blue sky, saying I do as the sun sets...if there is a more storybook setting for starting your life as husband and wife we can't imagine it. Congratulations you two!

Inspiration: Euphorbia and Celestine at Wadsworth Mansion

Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance -Coco Chanel

The refined styling by Emma Natter let the gowns headline in this shoot captured by D'Arcy Benincosa. These dresses have one thing in common, yards and yards of flowing fabric. Nothing compliments the diaphanous beauties more than a little movement. Our ruffled overdress, Euphorbia, is stunning contrasted against the backdrop of multiple arched windows at Wadsworth Mansion. While our layered natural white, ivory, and nude silk chiffon and crepe de chine Celestine rests in a niche along with the most beautiful blooms. Simplicity at its finest.
