Less is more is certainly a mantra around here (see us touting any beads on lace on frill on fluff?), but that’s not always as easy as it sounds. When there’s less, the less has to be right! Every detail counts and we love how Celestine plays into the organic simplicity here.
Wedding in the Desert Dunes
Walk into this dream of a wedding with the Celestine and Ianassa gowns. White sand as far as the eye can see and watercolor clouds are the perfect backdrop for two of our favorite flowy chiffon styles.
Today's real bride is a super cutie! Bethann's description of her and Alex's wedding was too sweet not to share in her own words:
"The wedding took place in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada at Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery. The rehearsal dinner and girls getting ready all took place down the road at an old heritage home we rented. The venue was very special to us as the winery is a small, boutique winery owned by my husband Alex’s parents Norma Jane & Blair Harber. The winery is situated on farmland land that has been in Norma Jane’s family for 5 generations. The farmhouse house she grew up in can still be seen on the property. The year before our wedding, we both worked on the winery (a first for me, but Alex has been involved in the family business for his whole adult life). All of our vendors are local people we love (our florist and my hair stylist are sisters, for example) with from Niagara-on-the-Lake or from nearby Toronto where Alex & I currently live. My family all came from Kingston, Ontario to the wedding and it was particularly special for me as I am the eldest of 6 siblings"
Also take special note of adorable Zora, Bethann's long-time pup! The best accessory to her Celestine gown we could ask for!
If you're feeling the harsh of the winter like we are here in NYC, come with us on this inspirational adventure to Maui courtesy of Matthew Ree photography and our Celestine gown. Can't you just feel that wind whip through your hair and the train of chiffon tugging as you walk through the sand? Sighhhhh, a girl can dream.
Beach weddings have a special place in my heart - there's just something about communing with nature that lends itself to the celebration of love. Maybe it's the reminder of the simple things in life. The raw elements of sand and sea need no decoration and the world is stripped away for that moment of all its complications and distractions.
With that in mind, Celestine suits the mood just right. Ease and grace and a touch of wild abandon make this dress the perfect breezy alternative to the norm of constraint and structure.
Lauren and Ethan were married at the Tudor Arms Hotel, in Cleveland. This Gothic Revival building was completed in 1933 and was originally an exclusive club. It was the perfect setting for their lavish and swanky nuptials. Lauren chose our Celestine gown. The flowing silk chiffon and crepe de chine suited her perfectly. Her sparkling cape added just the right amount of glitz and glam. Congratulations you two!
Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance -Coco Chanel
The refined styling by Emma Natter let the gowns headline in this shoot captured by D'Arcy Benincosa. These dresses have one thing in common, yards and yards of flowing fabric. Nothing compliments the diaphanous beauties more than a little movement. Our ruffled overdress, Euphorbia, is stunning contrasted against the backdrop of multiple arched windows at Wadsworth Mansion. While our layered natural white, ivory, and nude silk chiffon and crepe de chine Celestine rests in a niche along with the most beautiful blooms. Simplicity at its finest.
Autum is a second Spring when every leaf is a flower. -Albert Camus
This styled shoot by Sophie Brendle Photography celebrates the rich jewel tones, soft afternoon light and changing foliage of the season. It is as though the abundant outdoors have come in. Giving a rustic feel to the simple, clean interior, the overgrown flowers, branches, grasses and leaves have reclaimed the space and left one bouquet remarkably long, like Rapunzel's hair long, and just as enchanting. Both our Iolite and Celestine are perfectly at home in this semi-industrial floral masterpiece. Just right for the bride looking for a flowing gown fit for modern romance.
All hail Persephone, the Goddess of Spring. This amazing shoot from Lynette Boyle conjures dancing flowers and fairies alight in enchanted woods. The light-as-a-feather silk chiffon and crepe de chine of our Celestine gown make it perfect goddess wear. That lush floral crown is giving us major butterflies and leaving us dreaming of eternal summer.
Come float away with us on this dreamy, billowy, sublime shoot captured by Kelly Sauer of Exquisitrie, featuring our Celestine gown. Layered natural white, ivory, and nude silk chiffon and crepe de chine are ready to take flight at the water's edge. Fluid and fantastic, Celestine is every boho bride's dream come true.
No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn. - Hal Borland
Floral sketches and the new green growth of spring provide the inspiration for this bridal editorial. The layers upon layers of flowing silk chiffon and crepe de chine in our Celestine gown are brought to life with a gentle breezy movement. A flawless choice for our free-spirited, earthy brides.
