Wedding Inspiration: Texture with Triteia

Triteia’s structure and fit makes it a great option for indoor weddings, but these photos encourage us to think outside that box.

In an outdoor setting, the textured jacquard fabric mimics organic motifs found in nature, making Triteia look quite at home. Captured during golden hour, the intricate gown made for a dreamy contrast against sun-kissed hilltops.

So while she may have originally been inspired by the sea, on land, Triteia’s certainly found her legs.

Real Weddings: Meet Marjorie

Real Bride NYC Wedding Inspiration with the Hibisci gown

#Carolhannahbride Marjorie was looking for a unique gold wedding dress for her New York City wedding when she found our Hibsci gown! The intricately seamed fitted bodice and flowing organza skirt complemented her petite frame perfectly.

Marjorie accessorized with our Monarch crown and her favorite leather jacket, and the result was pure magic.

Rehearsal Dinner Outfit: Gold and White and Glam all over!

Speaking of unique gold dresses, Marjorie wore our Gramercy Dress for her rustic rehearsal dinner. The romantic setting and lighting really brought out the metallic details of the dress, and the modified neckline was a subtle nod to her wedding dress.

Congratulations cuties!

Black and White Wedding Palette

We are in the black and white mood these days! We love this wedding trend of chic monochromatic tones with a moody twist! Dark need not mean gloomy! The black accents act as a fun modern contrast to to an otherwise creamy palette, making this classic pairing feel oh so fresh.

Clean and Easy with the Ilia Gown

Clean, Modern Lines

We love the way this bride-to-be styled the Ilia gown with unexpected pops of black while still using a fairly traditional bridal color palette. It only takes a few details to totally change the vibe of your look. Take Ilia for example! The curve hugging trumpet silhouette is also classically “bridal,” but the angular seams that cut across the bodice, hips, and booty throw her firmly into the modern realm!

A Trumpet Gown and a Trailing Train!

Our #carolhannahbride this week is the lovely Kaitlyn, who chose the fit and flare Xyris gown in silk/cotton mikado and flowing silk organza to celebrate her nuptials in this gorgeous church wedding! We just love how flattering this trumpet silhouette is on Kaitlyn, and the architectural seaming looks killer on her! The scooped peaked bodice and squared off train throw a modern twist onto a classic bridal shape.

Engagement Shoot: Custom Reds in the Desert Dunes

Ideas for your Engagement Photos!

Engagement portraits need not be awkward or prom-y! Take a cue from #carolhannahbride Frankie who went with a custom fire red number and took to the desert with her honey for these incredible shots!

Tips for Engagement Outfit Styling:

  1. Pick a color that pops! It’s easy to get overwhelmed when choosing a look for something important, but you can’t go wrong keeping it simple and using something like color as a focal point.

  2. Keep it comfortable! Pick something you enjoy wearing and it will show in the photos (and vice versa), especially important if you don’t love being photographed. If you hate having your picture taken there’s nothing worse than also having to fuss with your dress!

  3. Make it special! Choose a dress or pieces with an element of interest beyond your standard go-to looks, be it draping, texture, volume, or movement. Frankie’s train here takes this styling from party dress to editorial asap!

Wedding Inspiration: Married in Lavender

Lavender Wedding Gown are the newest bridal trend!

When it comes to wedding dress colors, options abound these days. We’re lucky to be able to explore styling beyond the expected white, but when wearing a non-white gown, what makes it bridal and keeps you from just looking like another bridesmaid? The answer to that is not always straight forward and is often in the details.

Designing Non White Wedding Dresses for the Non-traditional Bride

The quality and texture of the fabric is paramount, as is the styling. When designing with color I usually find myself gravitating towards textiles with a lot of dimension - think layers of fibers in various colors that combine to form one overall hue with a unique glow, or the additional of subtle metallic threads to give it a barely there sparkle. In the case of the Nemoria gown here, we have both of those things plus a gorgeous 3D chevron pattern. We developed this fabric at one of the best mills in Italy and because it’s exclusively woven for us, you won’t see it used anywhere else! Add a unique asymmetric back keyhole and a sweeping dramatic train and there will be no doubt who’s the bride!

With layers upon layers of natural white Italian tulle, a hand draped sculptural bodice, a warm blushy lining, and a dramatic fit and flare silhouette, her custom gown from scratch was one of my absolute favorite projects this year!

An Ethereal Woodland Wedding

Every detail of this wedding is oozing with elegance and whimsy, and we love how the florals and furniture were used to transport the guests into Justine’s dreamy, ethereal vision!
