Real Weddings: Meet Sara

Here comes a tearjerker!  This super sweet, intimate celebration gave us all the feels!

Sara and Garrick were married with their nearest and dearest during a day that included a visit to the ice cream shop, some seriously good art murals, and a clear desire to do things their own way.  We love how Sara paired the Nymphea bodice and skirt with the Sequined Smoking Jacket for a look that says I'm here to party!

Inspiration: Rooftop reception in Chicago

Perched on a rooftop in Chicago, the Paeonia skirt and Fleur bustier were paired with fresh pops of blues, poppy, and peach for a private reception of simple elegance.    A sweeping train with sweeping views:  low key drama with high style!

Inspiration: Euphorbia

The Euphorbia gown has over 120 yards of silk organza in her tiered ruffles.  I mean, if we're doing ruffles, let's not be shy about it!   (see also: the Flutura)  I love the combo here of opulent and relaxed...like if Marie Antoinette suddenly found chill and let her hair down.  Let them eat wedding cake!

Inspiration: Lavender Fields Forever

Utah friends, have you been to the lavender fields at Young Living Farm in Mona? Tiffany of Tiffany Sangster Photography tells us they bloom for only about a month in late June, so they had the tiniest window to dream up this shoot in. As you can see with this beauty of a wedding cake from Cupcakes by Julie, the team let the fields inspire every inch of their purple wedding vignette. This ring from Wilson Diamonds. Talk about a stunner! They chose it for a nod to both contemporary and classic wedding styles. Tiffany says, We were inspired to go a different route from the boho chic that you have seen before, but instead go more of a modern love story. My first thought went straight to Carol Hannah Bridal, all her dresses have a beautiful flow to them and yet still retain that modern style that is up to date with today’s high fashion. The Potted Pansy, with her breathtaking floral arrangements, were perfect for this shoot as well.

Inspiration: Celestine Dreams of Maui

If you're feeling the harsh of the winter like we are here in NYC, come with us on this inspirational adventure to Maui courtesy of Matthew Ree photography and our Celestine gown.   Can't you just feel that wind whip through your hair and the train of chiffon tugging as you walk through the sand?  Sighhhhh, a girl can dream. 

Beach weddings have a special place in my heart - there's just something about communing with nature that lends itself to the celebration of love.  Maybe it's the reminder of the simple things in life.   The raw elements of sand and sea need no decoration and the world is stripped away for that moment of all its complications and distractions.  

With that in mind, Celestine suits the mood just right.  Ease and grace and a touch of wild abandon make this dress the perfect breezy alternative to the norm of constraint and structure.
