Brides often ask us for recommendations on hair, makeup and accessories, and the short answer is you do you boo! You should still feel like yourself on your wedding day, even if it’s a more glammed up bridal version of yourself.
If you normally wear your hair down, for example, now is probably not the time to try an over the top updo. If you typically wear your hair up, wearing your hair down on your wedding day could be distracting. The same goes for makeup! If you’re a less is more kind of gal, we suggest trusting in a makeup artist who understands that. However, if you love to go out all out on your makeup and lashes when the occasion calls for it, go for that instead!
For accessories, we always recommend a veil, even if it’s just for photos. There’s just something so romantic about a bridal veil, and when else will you get the chance to wear one? Earrings are always a great touch, as they add the perfect hint of sparkle. We typically caution against big or statement necklaces, as they pull the eyes away from your face. Headpieces and combs also make for great accessories (and heirlooms!). If you find yourself over-accessorizing, our tip is to take away one accessory, or to swap them out after your ceremony for a different look.
But take all of this advice with a grain of salt! Do what feels right for you and your day. That’s why we love today’s beauty inspiration - it feels like an elevated and elegant version of the bride. Scroll for more!
